    Doesn't quite make it to the borderline. Samantha Weaving screams future Oscar potential, and Alba Baptista and Eric Dane are heavily underrated. I want more of them. About halfway through, I thought Ray looked exactly like a young Jack Nicholson. Only to find out he's his son and it makes so much…

    stylish for sure, some great music, acted well for the most part and always great to see samara weaving in a horror/comedy role, but I feel like this never found its footing between the 2 genres, the comedy and horror aspects never felt like they had any weight, missed the mark

    a pretty entertaining dark comedy about a stalker that makes you scratch your head and almost feel bad for laughing 💀 it has a nice soundtrack and pretty good performances, with varied stylistic choices that set it apart it’s not a masterpiece but it’s a fun time

    A frequently funny story about obsession and mental illness. A really strong opening scene and third act but the stuff in the middle is uneven. Lots of plot holes and doesn’t capture the time period it’s set in. Besides that everyone delivers good performances.

The screenplay isn’t nuanced enough to switch between modes in a way that feels intentional and the result is the sense that there are a few different films jostling for attention.

It may not be quite as entertaining as the last time Weaving ended up in a murderous melee after a wedding ceremony. But there’s a least a few bits and bobs to keep “Borderline” from borderline failing.

Like “Cocaine Bear,” Borderline was built with “midnight movie” appeal in mind. And even if it never quite adds up to more than that, it doesn’t disapoint.
