an interesting film that takes a while to find a good pace. it's not as good as slugs but its better than squirm, in terms of bugs coming out ya mouth.
Wasn't even about a blue monkey, but I loved the fact they put a guy in a giant ant suit and had him terrorize sick children in a hospital. They just don't make this kind of art anymore.
Blue Monkey also known as Insect. Those are two very different titles that will lead to very different expectations going into this movie. If you're hoping for blue monkeys, you're out of luck because this is a giant killer insect movie. It actually starts out as a…
80's Night A fun "mutant insect" on the loose flick. Don Lake was perfectly cast, as a wacky entomologist. Sadly, we get another extremely low key performance from Railsback. Hopefully next time I see him in a film, he'll be going "full Railsback"
THEY BREED. THEY HATCH. THEY KILL. MAYBE IT'S JUST A PHASE THEY'RE GOING THROUGH. Lol at that tag line! Clunky slow moving creature feature out of the great white north. A charming little cheesefest with decent practical FX, a fun climax and that ever so satisfying…
Is there an entomologist in the house? In the safe confines of a county hospital, patients and personnel alike are falling prey to giant, slimy, growling, mutated ant/grasshopper creatures. Not blue monkeys. There are some unusual elements to give Blue Monkey more than the…
Fun little homage to 50’s big bug films like Them! and The Black Scorpion. The bug looks silly and doesn’t have great movement but it does rip off someone’s head and that’s all I required. Plus Steve Railsback and John Vernon are always a delight to see. Low budget and…
Insect aka Blue Monkey is one I'm happy to finally have on blu ray. It's a fun slimy creature feature of the low budget variety. The hospital setting, the likable cast(especially the foursome of young kids and the two old ladies), the practical effects, the quarantine, and…
legend has it, William Fruet watched Halloween II and thought he could improve upon it by replacing Michael Meyers with a mutant insect — that’s actually not a legend at all but it might as well be, that’s what this movie is, for better or worse (mostly better, thanks to…
