Iconic Moments in Cinema #297: “U @ ?”
Tony the TerrorDec 25, 2017Dark, sleazy, and not worried about being a shot for shot remake of Bob Clark’s 1974 Classic, this movie has been a topic of debate ever since it was released... every time I tell someone how much I love it I’m met with intense reasoning by on why it’s terrible and like… I…

This is the type of movie I wish I didn’t watch alone😭 not because it’s scary, but because it’s so goddamn insane and ridiculous and horrible that I need people to laugh at it with. I was shaking with fear during the og, and now I feel like I just got an ulcer from cracking up.
Idc what anyone says this movie was good with one of the best female casting i see in horror movies ever, yes i understand why people dont like it they ruined billy character plus the sister twist and the fact they have so many potential final girls but overall it was fun

Not great, but enough fun bits to not dislike it. There is a twist, especially if you are familiar with the original Black Christmas from the 70s. Could be better, should have been worse. Not mandatory viewing, but no reason to avoid.
I mean it’s fine for what it was. Had some callbacks to the original one. Little more violent. Only one butt shot lol. Origin of the villain in this one and kinda darker. Again it was just okay.

Iconic casting with amazing actress. The gore and graphics were very realistic.Definitely worth watching even if you watched the original. (5-8-25)
This movie was so good for a remake. Lacey Chabert, Katie Cassidy, Andrea Martin, and Michelle Trachtenberg were a great leading lady cast.

It's debatable whether the original 1974 Black Christmas is, as its most rabid fans claim, the mother of all slasher movies. But there can be no argument regarding the scant merits of its slapdash, soporifically routine remake, suitable only for the least discriminating of gore hounds.
