Ben-Hur deserves all the praise it gets. This film is excellent. Not only is it well written but it’s well directed and acted with a powerful narrative that can be appreciated even from a non religious perspective. There’s a reason this is such a revered classic. 9/10

Admire & respect more than actually like. Some thrilling action sequences & a great score keep it afloat but at times it gets very dull. Costume design & sets are great but it’s a very stodgy film that takes its sweet time. Iconic & influential but not one I see myself revisiting

The music is fantastic & it's visually resplendent, with vast scope & gorgeous costumes, sets, & production. The chariot scene is a spectacular stunt.
