Three cosplaying homicidal psychotics driven insane by a pulpy cocktail of sexual desire, emotional trauma, and socioeconomic anxiety wage open, armed conflict in a major metropolitan area. This was bankrolled by a major studio and released to an eager public.
matt lynchNov 21, 2014That this Catwoman never got her own solo movie and Halle Berry's did is one of the great tragedies in Hollywood history.
Matt SingerJun 20, 201995 Not a batman movie. Not a story about Bruce Wayne. Simply a tale of observing the ramifications of greed, normative oppression, and the fetish in reclaiming one's power - traits that the caped crusader knows all too well. Tim Burton created a fantasy kink opera out of…

6.6 - it’s campy & everything about it is unhinged: the costumes, the hair/makeup, the dialogue, the acting from Devito, Pfeiffer, and Walken, & the Tim Burton-ness of the whole thing. It’s also dark thematically. But it’s shallow (esp MK) & far from the “Batman” I picture.
The best thing about this movie compared to the first one is that there is no Vicki Vale.

Personally, this Batman movie is the best ever. The cast is fantastic. The mood of every scene in this film is dark, creepy and reminds me so much of the comics. And then Michelle Pfeiffer. Her transition into Catwoman and the way she portrays her: is chefs kiss for me. Best ever
this is a low exposure movie so you might want to watch it at night. love how its lowkey dark macabre like the comics. just wow, the dynamics of batman & catwoman, bruce and selina, when the realization hits. this is a beautiful and funny movie cuz man penguin/oswald is funny😭

What I expected... a king lord under the name of the Penguin. What we got. Also the batmobile is incapable of removing malicious hardware placed on it by villains, though it can detect it, but can detach part of itself to get through narrow entrances. How funny. Absolute joke.

This baby takes place in Tim Burton's id. It's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
I give the movie a negative review, and yet I don't think it's a bad movie; it's more of a misguided one, made with great creativity, but denying us what we more or less deserve from a Batman story.
Our rooting interest is not for any macho act by Batman to save the city but for each character to achive some sort of emotional peace. That makes for a strange but refreshing action story.
