Atom User Reviews for Avatar (Re-Release 2022)
I really thought this was gonna be a new avatar movie, it’s my fault for not watching the trailer.
I missed out seeing this movie in 2009 at the IMAX. It only Took 13 years to see it! So glad I did!
As good as I remember seeing it in 2008. Some movies are just better in theaters. I saw Avatar in 3D back when it first aired, and was blown away by the depth of world building, digital environments, and casting. This movie still stands beautifully captivating, and in 3D still came with some great moments of visual effects. This is one of those movies that is good because it took time to be good. I don’t mind a master piece if it’s patiently done to be good.
Cameron is still king
The "evil corporations" theme that didn't go over well when it first came out may work a bit better in today's world. 4k in a Dolby Theater was literally the most beautiful thing I've seen on a screen.
One of the most awe inspiring motion pictures I have ever seen.
Such a good movie. 10/10 recommend
Love it
Words can't describe how much I love this movie
I love this movie 🍿
I've seen the movie before but never in theaters so I went to see it in Imax 3D and it was fantastic a definitely worth it
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVATAR
I remember seeing this movie bk in 2009 and it was the epic movie I've seen back then! fast forward to 2022 and it still holds up and it's literally the most incredible movie I've seen..
Still one of my all time favorite movies. The IMAX 3D version is a surreal experience.
so so so much better in 3d
An absolute must see if you haven’t seen this movie ever or for a few years & plan on watching the upcoming sequel!
never experienced it when it first came out in theaters but it’s definitely a must. Honestly amazing in IMAX
So glad it came out again in 3D. We only seen it on reg DVD. Simply Amazing???
Best movie ever!
Avatar holds up after all these years. The visual effects are even more impressive than most of modern movies. There’s so many thematic concepts we can all relate too. Epic movie! Really looking forward Avatar 2 in December.
Amazing! Still the best visuals. Absolutely gorgeous. Make sure and stay for the clip from the new upcoming movie at the end.
A re-release was a definite waist of time and money actually wanting to see the new version coming.
Movie was great. Theater not so much. Might as well of been sitting on a concrete block.
Saw it in IMAX for my second viewing of the movie and highly recommend
So much fun! Absolutely amazing in 4DX!
A different take on what I now see as an adaptation of the John Carter series. A lot of parallels while making the story its own adventure.
Could see this again and again. 3D made it a whole new movie!!!
GORGEOUS and visually stunning! Just as amazing as the first time watching it.
Absolutely amazing. Never watched it in theaters back in 2009. AMC does a great job for enhancing the experience of such great movies.
Watching in the D-Box and it was so cool! We were young when we first saw it and it was so great watching this masterpiece again in theaters.
A beautiful place to immerse yourself in
4k 3D on large screen was amazing.
Loved it, the pacing was great, I was surprised it was 3 hours!
Metacritic
A fully believable, flesh-and-blood (albeit not human flesh and blood) romance is the beating heart of Avatar. Cameron has never made a movie just to show off visual pyrotechnics: Every bit of technology in Avatar serves the greater purpose of a deeply felt love story.
It's been twelve years since Titanic, but the King of the World has returned with a flawed but fantastic tour de force that, taken on its merits as a film, especially in two dimensions, warrants four stars. However, if you can wrap a pair of 3D glasses round your peepers, this becomes a transcendent, full-on five-star experience that's the closest we'll ever come to setting foot on a strange new world. Just don't leave it so long next time, eh, Jim?
Avatar is all-enveloping and transporting, with Cameron Co.'s years of RD paying off with a film that, as his work has done before, raises the technical bar and throws down a challenge for the many other filmmakers toiling in the sci-fi/fantasy realm.
