As an Iraqi, this movie wasn’t made for me to watch lol. It was made for all the Americans that felt bad 20 years later. Quite offensive, though based on a true story, to try and portray that there’s no villain in a war. Diabolical.

rumeyscOct 2, 2026Kenneth Branagh stole the show. Boyd Holbrook was really good. Unfortunately the film’s script was incredibly tone deaf, as someone who was in his teens for the Iraq war, it was hard to watch without feeling dirty. I say watch it for yourself to gauge your own feelings.

Watched this movie at TIFF film festival. It needs main character development. Lou’s character clearly has ptsd but this is not really explored or drilled down on. It’s a given in the eyes of the director. To be fair though, Hiam Abbass on her character are amazing. What an actor

Hundreds of movies have premiered at TIFF this year. There’s a lot of buzz around a few titles, such as I Play Rocky and The Debut – Atonement deserves to be mentioned right alongside them. With a powerful script that is as emotional as it is compelling, Reed Van Dyk’s feature debut is incredibly impressive, and proves that this is just the start of the career for one of the industry’s most promising filmmakers.
