i know that we as the queer community are definitely moving in the right direction because we’re finally getting gay romance movies where the dialogue is just as bad as it is in straight romance movies

Respect to the fan girl at the TIFF Q&A who angrily listed her favorite lines from the book and demanded to know why they were left out of the film

Dante came back from Chicago gay and with weed. True representation I fear.

If this movie teaches us anything….it’s that the masturbation letter works only in book form

"Try it again," I said. "Kiss me." "No," he said. "Kiss me." "No," And then he smiled. "You kiss me."

Handled with great sensitivity by all involved, it comes off in all the most predictable ways.

It’s pretty easy to fall in love with Ari and Dante, but the movie is only in love with the idea of them, neglecting quality time between the characters that would really make us feel like they've traveled through galaxies and beyond.

With her feature debut, Alberto keenly understands that any story of self-discovery is as much a constellation as it is a journey, and that’s how her adaptation plays, as a mature accumulation of the tender, the uneasy and the clarifying.
