A giant film in cinematic history. This film might not have been the first historical drama, but its critical success cemented the genre as a big-budget money maker on the big screen, which documentaries had been seemingly trying to do since the inception of the film…
𝕭laze the 𝓐ction 𝕵unkieMay 9, 2022My favorite part of this inspiring true story of survival and the best of the human spirit is that Jack Swigert gave Fred Haise the clap by sharing a urine catheter with him. Funny that NASA scratched Ken Mattingly for potentially being exposed to measles but let Swigert…

good movie but I’m just telling you now, mark my words, tom hanks is an agent of the devil
Did not enjoy this movie as much as I thought I would. Too much lead up and boring interpersonal drama for a movie all about surviving space. Tom hanks is also in too many documentaries/drama/feel good movies for me to see him as any character other than Sheriff Woody
9.6 - This was a movie I watched probably a half dozen times with my dad, as a space obsessed kid. Right up there with Jurassic Park & Twister in the “never a wrong time to watch” set. So it felt appropriate to watch for the first time in years on the 8th anniversary of his passing. It may be…

It’s always really nice coming back and watching this classic! Amazing movie going over an amazing yet scary moment in americas history!
93/100. An amazing example of telling a true story while also adding suspense and backstory. The acting was absolutely phenomenal and the pacing of the film kept you on the edge of your seat. I didn’t understand much of the space vocabulary lol, but that doesn’t hurt it too much
If you ever want to watch a true story miracle, this is it. There was so much sacrifice to get to the moon and to have that mission to ripped away from them and stare death in the face, it’s a very compelling piece. Definitely an important history watch to add to your Queue. 🧑🚀

What can I say? If you have any love at all for the space race and the miracle that was sending men to the moon, this is a must watch. Absolutely-positively one of the best movies out there. The entire cast does an excellent job, and the attention to detail with the props is A+!
Great true story brought to life with a lovely score by James Horner, great performances & tension, and special effects that hardly show a wrinkle. My wife and I liked how this involved actual humans with big brains & actual expertise having to work together to solve problems.

The direction may not be flashy, but it is controlled and confident; the frames unfold with a no-nonsense, nuts-and-bolts realism that, in this era of laser-blazing Batplanes, seems downright welcome.
The Right Stuff will endure as the more ambitious movie, but this book-faithful, 2-hour team effort shrewdly keeps its eye on the ball.
It's a riveting, nail-biting, two-buckets-of-popcorn return to form for Howard.
