Moviegoers are saying
This Orwell adaptation has sparked wildly polarized reactions, with audiences either embracing its unconventional approach or recoiling at creative choices like fart jokes in classic literature. While some found it 'significantly better than expected,' the majority seem baffled by what appears to be a misguided attempt to modernize timeless source material.

0.1 - Absolutely zero part of me expected to have TWO 0.1/10 movies this year. But this is about to make me bump Iron Lung up. This is a disgraceful adaptation of its source material. First, it’s just not a story that needs a kids adaptation. I know talking animals feels inherently kid targeted…
Ant Hardy dislikedAnimal FarmThis film was marketed as a children’s movie, but this is far from that. This whole film has very dark themes and elements that make this film very adult. The story itself is lacking in a lot of departments, and unfortunately, it’s a rather lack luster film with some big names.
EJWStudios2005 is "meh" onAnimal FarmThis is the weakest adaptation of the book I ever saw. This is the kiddie version of “Animal Farm”. Seriously, go watch the 1954 version and don’t care if it’s CIA-produced, it’s the better version by far.

Reread the book before specifically to see if this was as bad as people were saying and… yeah. Turning one of the most famous anti-communist stories into an anti-capitalist one is almost cartoonishly dumb. It’s what the original book was making fun of lol. Animation was fine tho.
Jkha likedAnimal FarmVery weird movie. I’m not a big fan of the animation but it’s fine. The story is pretty cool, but it just was a bit too much, it felt too forced (trying to copy history). The characters were unique, I was genuinely interested, not sure if it’s entertaining for kids tho. 7.0/10
Azi Z is "meh" onAnimal FarmStarted off great and I was really excited but just started falling off until it fell off the cliff at the end. Unfortunate, because it had so much potential.

An Animated Political Satire that modernizes its integral themes of corruptive power with a muddied message suitable for families to learn from.

There are many flaws in Animal Farm, but its message is what I’m recommending the film for. Look, it will make great dinner conversation with your toddlers.

Put down Orwell’s book and you’ll shiver, convinced to redouble your efforts to protect civil society, stand for dignity and fight for the rule of law. Walk out of this new animated movie and you’ll likely just want to inhale more MMs. And fart.

The message feels muddled amid all the pratfalls and fart jokes.
