A gallery of dynamic characters clash over the possession of a rare Native American artifact in this wildly entertaining modern-day western. After the artifact falls onto the black market, a shy waitress with big dreams (Sydney Sweeney) teams up with a lovelorn military veteran (Paul Walter Hauser) to gain possession of it, putting them in the crosshairs of a ruthless criminal (Eric Dane) working on behalf of a Western antiquities dealer (Simon Rex). joeMar 17, 2023Got to sit among a few hundred strangers in the gorgeous Paramount theater for our SXSW world premiere. It went better than I could've hoped. There will be ebbs and flows and it's not going to connect with everyone. Etc etc. But man oh man, it sure felt like it connected…

"Genes are pased down from parant to osspring, often determening traits from hair colur to personality to even eye colur - my genes are blue." Anyway, the performances are meh, except for maybe the kid and Hauser. The story is great, but the pacing is choppier than Sweeney's fake speech impediment.…
Other than Sydney Sweeny’s terrible attempt at a speech impediment, I liked it a lot. Just my opinion but I think Halsey stole every scene she was in.

The first 10 mins were good, then it was a mess. Overstuffed and all over the place plot. Too much convenience in the story. By the time the “finale” happened, and it took an hour to get good again, I was just waiting for the credits, which still took forever.
This movie was pretty random not too much advertising for it but it was good. One of those slow build up kind of movies and that’s ok I enjoyed most of the characters and the interactions they had with each other person in their individual stories.

I actually really liked this. Though I’m not sure what genre or category you would put it in. I wish Halsey would do more acting, I love to see her on my screen. The most annoying thing about this was SS, which isn’t surprising
Sydney Sweeney’s great here; tough, messy, and real. The movie’s kinda all over the place, but that chaos works. Feels like a weird mix of Coen Brothers and small-town crime drama in a good way.

Guy next to me was snoring away through most of this movie
The ending took me by surprise with the son
Metacritic
With this cast, the film should have been a knockout. Instead, it feels bogged down, heavy, and way too concerned with making statements instead of just being entertaining.
The film is blessed with a fairly strong cast and while it isn’t nearly enough to make it succeed as a whole, whatever degree that certain scenes do work are almost entirely due to their efforts.
Though Hauser and Sweeney can’t exactly save the movie, they keep it from derailing.
