Imagine being able to conceptualize your own death with this level of bittersweet humor and sophisticated pageantry. Unreal. The most joyously and regretfully theatrical work I've ever seen. "Do you suppose Stanley Kubrick ever gets depressed?"
Josh LewisMar 4, 2020Apparently if you want your own great music biopic, you have to make it yourself
Patrick WillemsOn a scale from 1-5, this gets a 5-6-7-8.

to buy a criterion and then actually go through with watching it on the blu ray player…nothing quite like it
KarstenApr 1, 2020Can't remember the last time a movie made me feel so emotionally drained. I felt like watching a musical today and just brute forced myself into watching this one while the inspiration struck, but now I feel like climbing out of wet sand. Fosse never lets up on the playful…

Last night, I had the great pleasure of rewatching ALL THAT JAZZ and CABARET back to back at the Egyptian Theatre courtesy of American Cinematheque. ALL THAT JAZZ is a towering masterpiece, plain and simple, real and true. I can't think of another film in which an…

A movie that absolutely left me without words. All time favourite. Some scenes are a little bit too harsh but that balance all the glam. Deep, real and an absolute reflection of your actions onto your life. Be prepared it’s not an easy watch but it’s definitely worth it. 9,5/10
The tiktoks weren't lying saying how good this is. Incredible. Deserves way more recognition. Loved the themes and the soundtrack/plays. Kind of reminded of that one episode "The view from half way down" from Bojack. I'm definitely checking out more of Fosse's work.

It’s really sad that so many of the world’s most brilliant minds and greatest talents are such garbage human beings, e.g., Bob Fosse.

Bob Fosse’s half-confession about what a jerk he was to the women in his life may pull a lot of punches, but there’s just too much art on the screen to completely disregard the effort.
Savagely witty on backstage life and audaciously edited, Jazz stands alongside Cabaret as the best musical of the last 20 years.
All That Jazz may be Fosse’s finest cinematic achievement.
