TBH I wish the sexy martial arts practicing scene with Grace Jones & Christopher Walken could have been three hours longer.
Ian WestOct 30, 2015Real men don't eat quiche... ... they cook and serve it to beautiful young women after shooting a bunch of thugs who work for a deranged former KGB agent turned computer chip magnate who dabbles in horse breeding and also has interests in California oil fields. (In…
Matt SingerDec 3, 2025The movie is OK, mid-tier Bond, and kind of drags by the time it becomes about zoning permits and California state geological surveys, but Max Zorin is easily one of my favorite Bond villains for a lot of reasons: It's Walken, he wants to destroy Silicon Valley, which was…

The best Bond yet.
Griffin NewmanApr 17, 2021Roger Moore's last Bond movie. This has a reputation for being one of the worst of the series, mainly because Moore was a little long in the tooth at this point. And it's true: he's 58 here, and looks older. In fact there's a scene early on where Bond, M, Q, and Moneypenny…
Will SloanDec 5, 2020I watched two of the greats today. This and Citizen Kane.

Roger Moore was thawed from cryosleep a week prior to the June '84 start of principal photography.

A brilliant Bond film with a standout performance from a psychopathic villain, a more grounded plot filled with hints of humour and espionage. This film is a thrilling end to Moore’s Bond career. Extra points for a brilliant song by Duran Duran. Rating: H- 9/10 L- 9/10
I’ll lump all the James Bond films up to Casino Royale into one review. I love them all and there’s very few instalments that I don’t enjoy. I hope they keep making them till the day I die, fantastic films! 13/07/2023 (Historical Review)

I’ve seen every bond movie up to this point and when it came to how boring it could be compared to the other it stands out in that field of being so balls achingly boring that I was completely fine falling asleep to ( I didn’t) I wasn’t even tired that’s how slow it was 5/10
Despite Moore being my personal favourite bond and with the inclusion of Christopher Walken who is always a joy to see on screen this easily takes the spot as the worst bond film due it simply being a drag to get through and Moore running out of steam.

Walken and Grace Jones are pretty iconic. Paris, blimps, horses, bombs, San Fran. Crazy big scope that you love from Bond.
absurd & fabulous. grace jones (in some stellar alaïa) is the highlight without a doubt!

Christopher Walken sleepwalks his way through playing smarmy Nazi geneticist Zorin, where you would think he would have a ball hamming it up as a Bond villain. Indeed, it is a rare moment when Grace Jones makes the biggest impression as an Amazonian (naturally) henchman called May Day.
This jokey tone couldn’t be more different from the relative self-seriousness of helmer John Glen’s first 007 directing effort, For Your Eyes Only, and frankly, I yearn for more of that class.
