i’m a simple man, when i cry over a movie, i give that movie five stars.
OmarOct 31, 2016I feel like someone made this movie in a lab specifically so I'd like it
Mitch MyersAug 22, 2020Nearly perfect and completely bittersweet, A Man Called Ove succeeds as both a black comedy and a heartwarming character study of the quintessential grumpy old neighbor. This is a simple little movie, but it’s incredibly poignant and consistently moving. Everyone has a…

That cat deserves an oscar!
Cameron PattersonDec 31, 2024ON THE ROAD: SWEDEN - LAND OF THE TALL, THE SOUNDS, IKEA, ABBA & THE ICE HOTEL As I believe I mentioned in my review for the latest remake, I’ve already seen this version a while back when it got nominated at the Oscars. I mean yeah within the first 5 minutes when he stops hanging himself just to complain about someone’s driving I knew I was going to enjoy this film and I for sure did; wasn’t expecting this to be quite so comedic but ended up really enjoying this one. My Top 100

Sweet and terrifically depressing. Really tender moments surrounded by the frustration of a man that lost the only thing he didn’t want to.
Tragedy can be overcome. We can’t do anything alone. We need each other, often before we even know each other. We are all connected through the truth that we all have our own stories. Compassion for others is the extension of love beyond death for someone who embodied compassion.

always seen this on bookstore shelves but didn’t know there was a movie released. Ladies, never settle for less. He did everything to ensure sonja gets to teach 😭 Makes me so emotional seeing an old man try to commit suicide several times but all is well in the end.
This film definitely has a way with emotions. It makes you laugh but tugs on your heartstrings when you least expect it. All in all it was a beautiful film in every way.

I looooved the book. They did a really good job making it into a movie. A few missing pieces but just as much of a tearjerker.
