Atom User Reviews for A Journal for Jordan
Honest depiction of a military family, their struggles, love for one another, and the beauty between a father and son. So much heart. Oscar worthy performances.
Loved it
Great Movie
One thing about it….nah
The movie was amazing! But the theater was bad. The audio was out for half the movie.
Very Great Movie...I'll go watch it again.

Extraordinary!
had me in tears it’s a must see true story movie very romantic
The movie was impactful. Loved the military aspect since I’m retired Army. Showed the dedication & the dad’s desire to leave a legacy to his son in case he wouldn’t be there in person. Advice for his son to show the qualities that a real man has & their importance in life. Great movie!
I laughed, cried, and felt the love. it's a beautiful story
Such a great movie!
Metacritic
Director Denzel Washington and his stars do their best with this bland, shallow and awkwardly structured film.
In spite of its trite predictability and overlong running time, it’s clearly a loving tribute with its heart in the right place, but the source material was perhaps treated with so much respect that the portrayal of the relationship fails to generate any heat or emotional intensity.
Certainly among the worst films of the year considering the reputable talent involved, this inspirational drama stains Washington’s directorial filmography.
