a movie about how not having swag can destroy your life
BriannaSep 30, 2024The Seb Stan-ce. One of my favorites of the year. Unbelievably funny and smart, really fun and clever script, unravels in a brilliant way. The camerawork and editing are so peculiar that you feel like they were done for a different movie until a few key moments clue you…

I didn’t think Sebastian Stan would end up being the most interesting actor outside the MCU but I’m glad for it
jonathan fujiiJan 21, 2024A caustically funny cosmic joke of a film about an insecure actor who finds a miracle cure for his facial disfigurement, only to be upstaged by a stranger who oozes self-confidence despite (still) having the exact same condition the main character had once allowed to hold…

This was truly a treat to watch. It is deeply insightful and is packed with meanings, it confuses you for half the movie until the direction it’s going at clears up. Sebastian Stan who I greatly appreciate has showed me his talent is vastly superior with this one. Pearson is truly magical and…
8.8 - I don’t know that I really loved this, but the way it’s lingering with me can’t be discounted. It is getting a lot of comparisons topically to The Substance, & while I had a lot of fun with The Substance, it didn’t pack the punch message wise that this has. The script is one of the smartest…
really funny at times— i liked a lot of the first and second act, third act felt a little rushed and disjointed. certain things i wish they had explained more, but i guess leaving some things up to interpretation seems intentional. probably could’ve been 15 minutes shorter.

such a harrowing and unique watch. i enjoyed the awkward, powerful central performances and had no idea how the existential narrative would play out. i don’t see the humor, but i understand the meaningful message and deep sadness. adam pearson is phenomenal
I didn’t hate this movie, but I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t laugh once and I thought it dragged on. Everyone in the movie is obnoxious. It’s just a weird movie.

A man seeks a fresh start through facial reconstruction surgery, only to confront the haunting truth that a new face can’t mask old insecurities. Anchored by hyper-realistic makeup and a deeply uncomfortable authenticity, A Different Man explores identity and self-acceptance with the bold,…
This was super unique and had me invested. Plot, dialogue, acting was all really good. Sebastian Stan was excellent. The commentary and underlying themes of societal norms, fitting in, what makes someone valuable, etc. were interesting. Ending was the worst part as many others have mentioned. Just…
