I am going to keep this short and sweet. I know that this is a "film school" film. I know that as someone who is a fan of film, I should view this as a classic, and talk about it at length. "Oh mise-en-scene blahbudeeblu"... but I just can't. I don't like rape, and I…

Kinda traumatizing 😭 thankful tho cause if it wasn’t made then ultraviolence wouldn’t exist and it’s the best album
Thought provoking and at times sickening, this film is a brilliant analysis on the the concept of free will. However It is not for the fainthearted. Upon my first viewing I felt sickened by the grotesque sexual violence but upon further thought, the film grew on me 9/10
i know the point of the film is to make you uncomfortable, but some of the scenes felt too real where i had to skip forward or leave the room. i love kubrick but this just wasnt for me. cinematically its obviously top tier but based on enjoyment i dont like it at all

While it might be tempting to say Kubricks views were perverse, this film shows there was a deep-seated nuance to his observations that cut deeply to the core of our own propensity for violence as both the cause and effect of our own moral failings.
my ex (evil) had us watch this over 2 years ago at this point and it was so insane it still has left a lasting impression in memory where I occasionally think about it from time to time, but never in a positive way, it honestly scared me, never putting myself through that again

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL KUBRICKS BEST FILM A MUST WATCH FOR EVERYONE ON EARTH Also this is so good you see a guy who kills rapes steals and feel bad for him at the end of the film 10/10
- Such an interesting concept of a movie - I wonder if they ever tried this experiment in real life to actual inmates that are just purely evil

A Clockwork Orange ultimately asks: how deep is sin’s hold—on Alex, and on us? This being a Kubrick film—and considering that it leaves us with Beethoven’s Ninth triumphantly, transgressively ringing once more in Alex’s ears, after a fall from a window knocks the Ludovico out of him—the movie doesn’t seem to think humanity is worthy of an answer. To A Clockwork Orange, we’re all droogs at heart.
Granted, the gratuitous nature of the hyper-violence is not for everyone’s stomach, including mine in moments. What is undeniable is the rigour to which Kubrick conducted his creative team, actors and himself to offer a new approach to filmmaking. As Burgess wrote in the novel “The colours of the real world only seem really real when you watch them on a screen” wholeheartedly matches Kubrick’s graphically engaging ninth feature.
