“I don't care if they like me. I didn't come here to make friends. I don't even care if they respect me. I know who I am. I've got enough respect for myself. I do not want them to beat me.” Man.. I think all baseball lovers can admit that Jackie Robinson was the ultimate…

The narrative is a bit manipulative with a few shortcomings, but the brilliant direction, outstanding musical score and terrific lead performance make this biographical drama so compelling. Chadwick Boseman lives and breathes as Jackie Robinson. His presence turns it all…

Too soon, God you took him too soon. Chadwick The King is so well played in everything he was in, and this one too. Also I feel like they used hard-R N-Word a bit more than other slave owning film like Django lmfao. Alan Tudyk deadass just said 15 word in like 3 minutes😭

Rest in Peace Chadwick Boseman So after the (personally) shocking death of the talented Chadwick Boseman I choose to revisit some of his early works as a lead. Lord knows I've tried to watch Get On Up, but I've tried like three times and never lead myself to finish it…

Boseman hits his key scenes out of the park, making a swell couple with Shame's Nicole Beharie, while Helgeland stages Robinson's signature base-stealing with undeniable aplomb.

Already a hit in America, 42 is a well-told but square biopic doing justice to Jackie Robinson rather than exploring him.

The ambitious new biopic about Robinson, is better written and produced than those children’s books, but it isn’t any deeper, and that’s a disappointment.
