About an hour into Twelve Monkeys, Bruce Willis says, 'All I see are dead people'. Did he like have a sixth sense??

I didn't really intend to, but after watching La Jetee yesterday I felt the need to watch the film it inspired so much again. And watching it with the powerful imagery of La jetee fresh in the back of my mind, I think Gilliam's film just possibly got a bit better. Even…

One of my top 25 all-time favorites. A bizarre vibe (thanks, Terry Gilliam!) lays groundwork to some of the best over the top performances from Willis and Pitt. This is one to really get lost in. Plus, I’m a sucker for time travel movies.
Ok so hear me out…. The first hour had me fighting my urge to sleep….. my friend told me to push through and truthfully i don’t love but im happy i finished it… it was pretty interesting .. i recommend the struggle lol

Willis, Pitt, Stowe. Three unbelievable powerhouses carry to the end. The main problem with this gorilla-sized story is the runtime. It starts slow and builds up really well. The exposition hints at what's going on with so much scepticism. There's no unnecessary production going on, it's all…
Between like and meh, mainly because it drags a bit after the 3rd jump back in time and because I misunderstood some things. When I cleared up those misunderstandings I liked it a lot. Very creative. Not only was this Pitt’s best performance, but it’s one of the best generally
Subverts the time travel genre in enjoyable ways. Willis & Stowe were great, and Brad Pitt was amazing. The story is engrossing and intriguing, with satisfying twists, turns, and payoffs. Production quality is impeccable. The music is bouncy, frenzied, in an eerie sort of way.

I had really high hopes for this because I’d only heard good things about it, however the story feels dated and overly convoluted just for the sake of it. From the jump we know how the plot ends so with nothing much else to offer I found it boring. P.S. The acting ain’t it chief
This is a post-apocalyptic, almost cyberpunk style movie with really good performances from Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis, and Madeleine Stowe too. The story is interesting, the fast-paced dizzy way it’s filmed makes it more fun, and there’s a good couple of twists. Pretty good!
