When Disney released the teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action Dumbo back in June, we were treated to a sneak peek of the adorable little CGI elephant with oversized ears. The mere glimpse of those big innocent eyes hidden beneath a pile of hay is enough to make your heart melt, and the split second of the airborne elephant left us wanting more right then and there.

Five months later, our wish is granted with two and a half more minutes of director Tim Burton’s imaginative take on the animated classic. Last night the first full trailer soared across American TV screens during the Country Music Awards broadcast on ABC and, we must say, Disney’s live-action game is looking strong.

This new trailer reveals Dumbo’s first flight (powered by his “magic” feather and a sneeze—seriously, could ‘Bo be any cuter?) as well as narration by a scheming Michael Keaton and few lines of dialogue from the all-star cast that includes Eva Green, Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito and Alan Arkin. While the bones of the story seem to line up with the original, there are some notable differences including a greater focus on the human characters. For example, it’s the caretaker’s children, not a mouse (although we do see a mouse in a ringmaster costume), who encourage Dumbo to embrace his differences, become a star and help save the struggling show under the big top. One story element that doesn’t change? The heart-wrenching scene where Dumbo’s mom gets wheeled away as the two elephants cry out in anguish. While the film will undoubtedly have an uplifting ending and strong theme of acceptance, it’s safe to say it will surely invoke all the feels in the process.

Dumbo flies into theaters on March 29, 2019.
