One of the best films of 2016 was the anime hit Your Name. Now, Hollywood just got a step closer to bringing us a live-action remake. This is a good thing.

J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot has set Marc Webb (500 Days of SummerThe Amazing Spider-Man) to direct their live-action remake of the 2016 anime hit, Your Name, reports Deadline

Abrams and his production company secured the remake rights for Japan’s popular 2016 anime release and set Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer to adapt the romantic fantasy drama. The original, written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, was an inspired and fresh take on the popular body-swapping genre. According to Deadline, Heisserer’s reimagining will follow “a young Native American woman living in a rural area and a young man from Chicago.” The two discover “they are magically and intermittently swapping bodies. When a disaster threatens to upend their lives, they must journey to meet and save their worlds.”

With the guy who gave us 500 Days – one of the best romantic dramedies in the history of ever – working with the screenwriter behind the heartstring-tugging, sci-fi hit Arrival, audiences can expect something special.

No release date has been set for Your Name, but we will keep you updated. This is a movie you’re gonna want to put on your radar early.
