What are Atom Tickets Gift Cards?

Atom Tickets Gift Cards are classic physical gift cards or digital eGift cards. Buy them for yourself, or your family and friends, to enjoy going to the movies using Atom Tickets!

What’s the difference between a Gift Card and an eGift Card?

Gift Cards are physical cards that you can order from us to have shipped to a recipient in the United States or Canada. These Gift Cards can be used to pay for orders made through the free Atom Tickets mobile app or the Atom Tickets website.

eGift Cards are the simply virtual gift cards. When you order them from us, they are electronically delivered via email to the recipient. As with physical Gift Cards, eGift Cards can be used to pay for orders made through the free Atom Tickets mobile app or the Atom Tickets website.

You should treat all Gift Cards and eGift Cards like cash – they can’t be replaced if lost, stolen, altered, or destroyed. Atom Tickets Gift Cards and eGift Cards have no expiration date and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash (except as required by law).

Are there any fees associated with Atom Tickets Gift Cards?

Nope. There are no fees associated with our Gift Cards or eGift Cards. You’ll only be charged the face value of the Gift Card or eGift Card. For physical Gift Cards, you’ll also be charged the cost of shipping (there is no shipping fee for eGift Cards).

Can I buy an Atom Tickets Gift Card for use in Canada?

You sure can. All Atom Tickets Gift Cards and eGift Cards can be redeemed through Atom Tickets for eligible theaters in the United States and Canada.

PURCHASING & SENDING

How do I purchase a Gift Card or eGift Card?

Just go to the Atom Tickets Gift Card store at atomtickets.com/giftcards! From there, you can choose to purchase classic physical Gift Cards or digital eGift Cards. Pick your card design, quantity, and how much you want loaded onto the Gift Card. Enter the delivery information, go through checkout, and you’re ready to give the gift of movies!

Can I purchase multiple Gift Cards?

Yes – you can even order multiple Gift Cards and send them to different recipients via a single order. Orders with multiple Gift Cards may be subject to limitations. Contact Customer Support with any questions.

Can I change the value of a Gift Card after I've paid for it?

Unfortunately, not at this time.

How do I cancel the purchase of a Gift Card?

If the Gift Card hasn’t been redeemed, you can cancel your purchase by contacting contacting Customer Support. Cancellation is subject to limitations.

Which credit cards and payment methods do you accept?

We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal.

What is a credit card security code and why is it required?

We require your credit card security code to help protect you from unauthorized transactions.

For MasterCard, VISA, and Discover, the security code is the 3-digit number printed on the signature panel on the back of your card, right after your account number.

For American Express, the security code is also called the CID number and it’s the 4-digit printed above the card number on the front of the card.

Please note: a few American Express accounts (like corporate and purchasing card accounts) are “plastic-less” and don’t have a security code. If you have one of these accounts and don’t have an actual AmEx card, please enter 5555 as your card security code.

When is my credit card charged for my purchase?

Your credit card is charged at the time of purchase. This purchase will appear on your credit/debit card statement as ATOM TKTS EGIFT CARD.

When is my PayPal account charged for my purchase?

Your PayPal account is charged at the time of purchase.

Can I buy an eGift Card for myself?

Sure, just make yourself the email recipient!

You can do that in the "Email" tab underneath "How would you like to deliver your eGift Card?" On this tab, just put your name in the "Recipient Name" field and your email address in the "Recipient Email" field. Then you can complete the transaction normally. When you receive your eGift Card email, follow the instructions in the email to retrieve and redeem your eGift Card.

How can I hand deliver an eGift Card to give to someone as a gift?

Just personalize the eGift Card for your recipient, have it sent to yourself and then print it!

You can do that in the "Hand Delivery" tab underneath "How would you like to deliver your eGift Card?" On this tab, enter your email address in the "Your Email" field. Enter your recipient's name and your personal message on the eGift Card preview, and complete the transaction normally. You’ll get an eGift Card alert via email. Follow the instructions in this message to retrieve your eGift Card and then choose "Click to print this page." The resulting printout can be given as a gift to the recipient.

Can I send two (or more) eGift Cards to two (or more) different people who share an email address?

Yes. If you send separate Gift Cards to Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim at their shared email address, they will receive two messages with the subject "[Sender] sent you an eGift Card from Atom Tickets" with your name in place of “[Sender].” Each email’s message will be addressed to the respective recipient, using the name you entered in the purchase process, for example: "Mary Smith, John Jones sent you a $XX eGift Card from Atom Tickets."

When will my recipient receive their Gift Card?

For an eGift Card, it will be sent via email on the delivery date you choose during the purchase (with rare exceptions for processing delays). For same-day delivery, most eGift Cards are sent within an hour of the purchase transaction. For future delivery, eGift Cards are sent on the morning of the scheduled delivery date. Please see the "eGift Cards" section below for more about eGift Cards.

For a physical Gift Card, the delivery time is determined by the Shipping Method selection. Orders are generally shipped within 1-2 business days. Once your Gift Card is shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number, which you can use to check the current shipping status of your gift.

What are the shipping options?

For an eGift Card, it will be sent via email. Please see the "eGift Cards" section below for more about eGift Cards.

For a physical Gift Card, you can choose to send it via our standard shipping, which is free of charge, or via expedited shipping, which has an additional fee. You can make your selection under the Shipping Method option during your purchase. Depending on when your order is placed, it may take 1-2 business days to process order.

How do I check my order status and delivery?

Once your Gift Card is shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number, which you can use to check the current shipping status of your gift.

Where can I ship my order?

Gift Cards may be shipped to valid street addresses within the United States and Canada. For your protection, we do not ship to Post Office Boxes.

What if my recipient did not get their Gift Card?

If your recipient does not get their Gift Card, please contact Customer Support. Cancellation is subject to limitations.

What if my Gift Card gets lost or is stolen?

Your Gift Card has cash value and should be safeguarded as such. If you lose your Gift Card, contact Customer Support immediately. If your Gift Card has not been redeemed or has remaining value, we can cancel the original and issue you a new eGift Card for that value.

Where can I use my Gift Card?

You can redeem your Gift Card using the free Atom Tickets mobile app for iOS or Android or at atomtickets.com.

Do I need an Atom Tickets account to redeem a Gift Card?

No. You can check out on the Atom Tickets website as a guest and still use your Gift Card or eGift Card. However, you’ll have to keep hold of your Gift Card to later use your remaining balance.

How do I use my Gift Card?

Just use the Atom Tickets mobile app or atomtickets.com to find a showtime for a movie, and add it to your cart, along with any concessions (where available). You can enter your gift card information during checkout.

How can I check my Gift Card balance?

There are a few ways you can check the balance of your Gift Cards (including classic physical Gift Cards and digital eGift Cards):
  • You can check your balance online by visiting Atom’s website and clicking the link for “Find Your Gift Card Balance”.
  • You can also call us at 866.439.9060.

Are there fees for using an Atom Tickets Gift Card?

No, our Gift Cards and eGift Cards have no fees. Purchases at some theaters include a per ticket service fee which will be applied to your order regardless of whether you are using an Atom Tickets Gift Card or eGift Card, or any other payment method.

Can I redeem my Gift Card at the theater?

No, Gift Cards and eGift Cards can’t be redeemed at the theater. You can only redeem them through Atom Tickets.

Can I use my Gift Card to see movies at any theater?

You can use your Gift Card to get tickets through Atom Tickets at any of our participating theaters in the United States and Canada. You can find participating theaters at our Browse All Theaters page or by searching by location on the website or in the Atom Tickets app.

When does my Gift Card expire?

Great news – your Atom Tickets Gift Cards do not expire! However, we recommend that you redeem it soon after you receive it, so you don't forget.

Can I add value to my Gift Card (“reload it”)?

Unfortunately, not at this time. The only value that can go on a Gift Card or eGift Card is the original amount purchased.

If I have more than one Gift Card in my account, how are the applied?

If you loaded multiple Gift Cards into your Atom Tickets account, we will apply them in the same order they were added to your account. So the oldest card will be applied first. During checkout, you will have the ability to “remove” a Gift Card from being applied to your order if you want.

How is my Gift Card applied if I am using a promotion, or a movie theater gift card?

We will apply any promotions first, then any movie theater gift cards, and then your Atom Tickets Gift Cards.

How are refunds handled?

If you make a purchase with a Gift Card and validly cancel that order, the amount applied from your Gift Card will be put back on your Gift Card. However, if you do not have an Atom Tickets account and were checking out as a guest, we will issue a new eGift Card and send it to you at the e-mail address you used for that order.

What is an eGift Card?

An eGift Card is an electronic Gift Card that works just like a physical Gift Card except it’s digital and sent via email.

What exactly does the recipient get when I send an eGift Card?

On the delivery date you choose, a message is sent to the recipient informing them of your gift, with a link for them to get their eGift Card.

That link goes to a page showing the eGift Card you created - with the design you selected, your recipient's name and your personalized message - the eGift Card’s value and code number, and some simple instructions for redeeming and/or printing the eGift Card. That page may sometimes include some special offers and promotions.


How do you prevent the eGift Card email from getting lost as spam?

We do our best to adhere to industry best practices to avoid having any of our emails marked as spam and to ensure successful delivery of the eGift Card via email.

Of course, there is still a chance that the email will be treated as spam or that the recipient doesn’t even notice it in their email inbox. As noted below, when the eGift Card email is delivered, you will get a message confirming that delivery. You’ll also get a message letting you know when the eGift Card has been viewed. If the eGift Card goes un-viewed for 15 days after delivery, you will receive a message with options for resolving the issue.


How do I know the recipient actually received the eGift Card I sent them?

You’ll get email notices when the email to your recipient is delivered, and when they have viewed the eGift Card. If the eGift Card goes un-viewed for 15 days after delivery, you will receive a message with options for resolving the issue.

You can also feel free to contact Customer Support at any time with the order number from your purchase email, and we can tell you if the recipient has viewed their eGift Card.

Do I need to print my eGift Card in color? Do I need a special printer?

No and no.

Most standard office and household printers are equipped to print eGift Cards, and you definitely don’t need to print them in color. Some printers produce great results, and older printers sometimes don't print certain images well, but the most important thing is that the Card Number is clear. If it’s not, you may need to install a new ink cartridge.

What if someone makes a copy of my printed eGift Card?

If you suspect that someone has copied or stolen your eGift Card, contact Customer Support immediately. Any value that has not been used can be re-issued to you in a new Gift Card.

We use technology to inhibit fraud like that as much as possible, but you should always safeguard your eGift Card for your own protection. The value of the eGift Card is tied to the Gift Card number. When that number is used, the value of the purchase is deducted from the eGift Card. So if someone makes a copy of your Gift Card and redeems it for the full amount, your copy will have no value.

Is my order secure?

All personal and financial information is transmitted using the https protocol over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), for consumer protection. Behind the scenes, your web browser is sending all personal and financial information over SSL. The Gift Card purchase process is fully PCI compliant. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact Customer Support.

What if I lose my Gift Card?

Your eGift Card physical Gift Card has cash value and should be safeguarded as such. If you lose your Gift Card, contact Customer Support immediately. If your Gift Card has not been redeemed or has remaining value, we can cancel the original and issue you a new eGift Card for that value.

Atom Tickets eGift Cards are powered by CashStar. CashStar is a Maine-based company specializing in eGift Cards that allow consumers and businesses to securely send Gift Cards over the internet.
