Atom User Reviews for Love Lies Bleeding
I LOVE A24's gritty, imaginative, original films. This was such a captivating story from start to finish! Great cast, excellent hair and makeup and set design. Love that it was set in the 80's. Great job at capturing everything from that time. Es Harris is an OG. I would've loved to have known all the details of his past, but really enjoyed the movie otherwise. I'm as straight as they come, but these girls had me ALL IN MY FEELS.
The movie alone did a good job telling the story of the lovers but I really wish we got more information of the dad’s background story. Overall the film is a must watch .
Nice art house throwback to David Lynch and early Atom Egoyen. Stellar cinematography in camera work and good performances. A good psychodrama that would fit right in with the early '80s.
This movie just kept escalating! I would watch again
Kinda unrealistic at the end
Great Movie all around, definitely has its own unique way of showing what love is for some, definitely worth checking out!!!
Had so much fun, not a dull moment. Also a bit dreamy and phantasmagoric, just so great.
Kristen Stewart was amazing!
They do roids have sex and shoot guns. 10/10
I enjoy small town crime films, and this had a great twist. Love can make a person act crazy, and the two leads Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian did a phenomenal job. Solid film, and great supporting job by Ed Harris. Leave the kids at home, intense physical scenes
AMAZING!! i didn’t know what to expect going into this movie, i was so surprised by the plot twists, casting, and the story line! this movie was exciting, funny, and unpredictable
Muscle Mommy

There’s still quite a bit to like here, from the strong sense of atmosphere to the layers of a Hitchcockian plot, but this is not a complete movie. And when viewers are laughing at a movie rather than with it, something has gone awry.
Ultimately, the true genre of “Love Lies Bleeding” is a Kristen Stewart movie. That genre, too, is one that the director neither expands nor reinvents.
Wherever these two love-crazed lesbians’ poorly-thought-out plans take them, we’re along for the dizzying ride.
