Synopsis

Mtrees is "meh" onWonkaI don’t think this is what anyone wanted from a Wonka prequel. It was barely about him… People wanted to see where and how he learned all these amazing things, but you see none of that. Hugh Grant was the best thing about this movie, but he’s rarely featured. 08/12/2023

It's as enthusiastic yet inscrutable as Wonka himself, played with an elegantly withholding quality by Chalamet, who in moments of quiet contemplation and madcap inspiration could be Gene Wilder's long-lost grandchild.
