I miss the good old days when romcoms actually FELT like a romcom and there were CHEMISTRY between the 2 leads and the characters doesn't feel like they're TRAPPED in a psychological thriller 💔

Julia Stiles, I love you... BUT. I wish I weren't here.
Veda RamaswamyJan 22, 2025one of those movies where all the side characters are more interesting than the main characters. Jimmie Fails deserves better. Meia hora de filme, e ótimo filme. Me sentindo agoniada, e querendo saber o final. Esse começo de filme, é uma história de romance normal que pode acontecer, e uma vida normal da Charlotte, só que tem um "quê" a mais, que acredito que seja o plot,e o filme constrói muito bem.
The chemistry is great. The movie takes too long to get going to the point but overall is a good movie.

The fault seems to be in the chemistry, not just between the leads — it’s tough to believe that Charlotte and Adam have the connection on their night together that the movie insists upon — but between all of the characters.
First-time screenwriter Stiles stumbles a bit in the book-to-movie adaptation. Some elements and characters that work better on the page with the main character narrating are clutter in a screenplay.
Director Julia Stiles constructs something fresh. The actor-turned-filmmaker, who co-adapts with Carlino, instills the source material with a clear-eyed sense of emotional authenticity, from its fantastical romanticism to the characters’ delicately-faceted relationship dynamics.
