Deeply touching, sometimes quite sad, and realistic portrayal of motherhood. Do not read any reviews with spoilers if you want the full effect of the movie.

Enjoyed the movie but definitely not what I expected. As a mother I could relate with the main character. It did have some sad moments but so does real life. I would highly recommend it.

Cody has constructed an elaborate composition hidden by its countless complementary pieces that each packs a deceivingly potent punch. And even though Reitman is the one bringing her words to life, their partnership has always been solidly attuned.

A privileged sanctimony clings to this movie that is not fully recognized by its filmmakers: After all, not every distraught new mother can afford a self-help guru.

At its spiky, intermittent best, Tully is the best work Cody has done in the conventional feature format since “Juno.” And yet I’m all over the place on it.
