This movie is so haunting… you’re almost unaware of the darkness into which you’re being submerged until it’s too late, and you find yourself gazing into an abyss of human evil. A chilling portrait of sociopathy, loss, and how we can find ourselves consumed by unanswerable…
Mike FlanaganSep 4, 2018If you’re looking for something light, breezy, and fun boy have I got a recommendation for you. There’s just something so plain and literal about Sluizer's approach here that I find absolutely skin-crawling and hypnotic. It's got an ice-cold clinical patience that it…

When I was fifteen my teacher who taught Dutch made us read Tim Krabbé's 'Het Gouden Ei'. After reading it and discussing it in class we watched Spoorloos, based on said novel. I remember being a bit bored by the novel and thought the film was ok. Many moons later I…

Saskia: My nightmare. I had it again last night. Rex: That you're inside a golden egg and you can't get out, and you float all alone through space forever. Saskia: Yes, the loneliness is unbearable.
Noah DiVincenzoOct 5, 2020The Vanishing is one of the most detailed and terrifying murder mysteries I've seen. Told from two intertwining perspectives regarding the disappearance of a female tourist in France, it feels like two hemispheres that fit perfectly together, thus leaving no air for the…

The most overhyped movie on the planet Ending was mediocre and the movie dragged and was just overall boring The only good part was when they finally met and went on the car ride but even that was interrupted by nonsense scenes that just didn’t need to be in the movie
Spoorloos as it was originally called. Fascinating film with so much influence today. Still don’t fully think I understand it but that’s not a problem. Excellent performances & a great build of tension and stress throughout. Bit goofy that the director remade their own film later

Overrated. Liked the ending and the overall creepiness but that's about it. The acting was shockingly terrible in major scenes which was disappointing and put me off, the plot didn't really grab my attention idk maybe because it dragged a little.
Man. This movie is messed up. Much better than the US remake. Both have great acting. Just felt like the killer was much better written in this one. Also it wasn’t the BS ending that the US always does. Dark. Enjoyed it a lot.

It was interesting to follow this from the perspectives of the protagonist and the antagonist. It's usually one or the other, and sometimes having a bleak ending works better than a typical one.
Interesting film that keeps you non stop involved in the plot other worth noticing aspect is the ending that leaves you with feeling of emptiness that you will remember for a long time
