Moviegoers are saying
Twilight has become a cultural phenomenon that audiences love to critique with razor-sharp wit, with reviewers delivering hilariously brutal takedowns of Bella's character development and questioning the franchise's most basic plot logic. The consensus reveals a film that's simultaneously beloved and mocked, with fans particularly fixated on Alice's underappreciated role and Edward's melodramatic tendencies.

Constrained by the plot of the novel, the film keeps the two lovers apart for quite a spell, robbing the project of the crazy-in-love energy that made Twilight, the first entry in the series, such a guilty pleasure.
