The book was great but this did not translate well on the screen. They changed some key scenes in my opinion. Also found the soundtrack lacking.
It was a good clean movie
While time is likely on the side of its leads, their chemistry only goes so far in what feels, finally, like a half-baked movie.
The story and its trappings feel a little generic, the dialogue studiously bland and the characters and their problems curiously weightless, in spite of gestures in the direction of real-world issues.
Director Russo-Young, whose roots are in independent film, has brought a bit of a welcome indie sensibility to the proceedings.
