Synopsis
It’s been more than 30 years since Shane Black (Iron Man 3) performed in the original Predator as a soldier named Hawkins, a.k.a. “the first dude killed by the Predator.” And now he’s returning to the franchise as the director and co-writer of the latest installment, ushering in an even deadlier new era for the universe’s most lethal hunters! This time around the Predators have been upgrading themselves using local DNA from each planet they visit, making them more dangerous than ever. Which means it’s really not a great time for a little boy to trigger their return to Earth from his suburban home. The fate of the humanity rests in the hands of a ragtag group of ex-soldiers … plus one disgruntled science teacher (aren’t they all?). The Predator boasts a star-studded – yet ragtag! – cast, including Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski.

hope you did tmobile Tuesday and got your ticket for $4
I can’t believe someone said this is the best Predator yet. This is a terrible movie! The visual effects were great. The cast is ok. The story is terrible. The comedy is out of place. Just a really terrible movie. I was shaking my head at the end thinking “how am I going to make it through this”. Just bad! Why are all of the Predator movies so bad compared to the first one? This is a rental at best. I saw it at an IMAX. That helped a lot making this POS somewhat enjoyable.
Metacritic
The frat house atmosphere eventually gives way to tedious bloodletting. In that regard, The Predator hasn’t evolved at all.
On the whole, the film slays in all the right ways: killer cast, killer one-liners, killer kills. But there's a distinct sense that the story is stitched together from other, hastily discarded plot lines – even the simple manner in which some characters get from Point A to Point B is messy.
