NADINE SIERRA WAS AMAZING
Wonderful performance
Thanks for presenting the Met in HD. LOVE IT
I'd give this a 4.5. Part of my experience was diminished by the person next to me, who regularly lit up his phone to take photos/videos of the opera, and other annoyances. The performance is quite good, with excellent cast/performances. Music is great. I'm not pleased by the set, which keeps the same 5 pieces of furniture in their exact same locations even though we're in radically different places.
Nadine sets the bar so high in her performance of Violetta that I cannot imagine anyone doing it better. She owned that part and delivered a performance of perfection. We all cried we were so moved.
The HD opera broadcasts are a completely different experience from the live productions. The close up camera work, backstage scenes and interviews are worth every penny. The quality of the sound varies from theater to theater. The star of this La Traviata, Nadine Sierra is at the top of her game and is magnificent. The theater we were in for this showing actually had a fire emergency and we all had to evacuate after an hour or so. That was a huge disappointment.
Awesome production, singing, and acting!
Joe Green sure knew his business!
Absolutely phenomenal production. The Met at its best. I loved all the commentary in between acts.
The cast ws outsteanding both in vocals and in acting. I really felt the emotioins of the characters.
Performance was fantastic! Theater (AMC) was so-so (forgot to turn down the houselights until prompted by audience). Interviews were great and provided a lot of insight.
one of thee most challenging for a soprano, but done magnificently. I had seen the opera before on a lesser caliber stage and had now idea how poignant and emotional a voice could be. Marvelous.
Must see
Nadine Sierra was magnificent.
