what a gift to see The Met on the screen.
Fabulous
Intriguing
The '50s decor was fabulous--almost too real. The cast obviously had fun in the presentation. The physical "stunts" of the cast reminded me of a time many years ago when some of the football squad at my alma mater joined a cast and commented later that more was required of them physically than any football workout did. This was obviously true in this presentation.
The performance was great. The opera in itself not something I liked, the script not to my liking, too immoral.
I love this Live at the Met series. My first opera was Peter Grimes at the Met in ‘67. I have been a long time opera fan. This is a welcome convenience at my age. Falstaff was good fun. Verdi’s last and so entertaining
A wonderful entertainment experience with excellent acting, singing of perhaps Verdi's best music.
Fantastic voices and choreography by a very large cast. Hugely comic story of the complete humiliation of the self-impressed, narcissistic Falstaff. A timeless parable perhaps? Loved it!
Don’t miss this production. Thumbs way up!
