Atom User Reviews for The Metropolitan Opera: Carmen
Wonderful performance. Watching Carmen on HD Met Opera was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Perfect combination of movie sized screen and sound coupled with the Met. Performance was outstanding and the behind the scenes interviews and images was a nice bonus. Will definitely attend again.
This was a wonderful and exciting performance
My first Met Live HD performance and it was wonderful. The voices, the great opera, as well as the extras - interviews, back stage peeks. And the venue - reclining heated seats, no tolls, no $$$ parking, 20 min from home. Opera that can't be beat.
Wonderful production - voices, acting, sets, dancing. The Metropolitan Opera always amazes.
Much better than being at the Met because the movie audience is shown what goes on backstage.
A lot of technical problems. Didn't start on time. Poor quality shooting of the Opera. Most important wasting my time watching the changing of the stage and interviews with the singers.(didn't watch it live)
Have seen many Carmens--but this was fantastic--one of the best ever.
Next best thing to being at the Met...possibly better given choice of seats and price for admission. Looking forward to the next production.
It
Best venue to watch opera...subtitles, popcorn and reclining seats...wow!
The time flew by, the drama held me and the characters were wonderful.Don Jose elicited sympathy and Carmen deserved the ending. Ole!
Really enjoyable afternoon! Cast was great, orchestra wonderful, the behind the scene tour of the stage was so interesting. See it!
Magnificent
We were unable to attend the event due to snow and ice on the roads. Major disappointment since I have been wanting to see it for years. I requested a refund or future credit, but didn’t receive a reply.
Wonderful !
Michaela was the Star!
clementine and roberto were amazing
Enjoyed the live feed since our resources for opera in OKC are limited. The sound could have been louder to appreciate all the wonderful voices.
Terrific acting, terrific singing. Great production. Comfortable seating. What more could I want!
Clementine Margaine was great, it was fun watching her play Carmen.
HD Opera is the best
Absolutely fabulous. The orchestra was first rate, the principles were outstanding (as well the whole cast) and the way in which it was filmed was beautiful and well conceived. You were brought into quite intimate moments even while retaining a sense of the whole company. The behind-the-scenes looks and interviews were mostly interesting (and they didn't drag them out). This is one of the more accessible operas (despite being set in Spain while sung in French). I highly recommend it.
Great opera but Don Jose doesn't handle rejection well. Great flute and piccolo section in the orchestra.
Outstanding experience. Puts you right there with the performers. Can clearly see the emotions and exuberance.
Besides seeing an incredible performance, the HD presentation enabled me to observe and appreciate movements, facial expressions, etc. that I would never see in a live theatre. After tonight's experience, I will definitely choose to watch performances in HD!
Excellent performance. These presentations are not only enjoyable, but educational as well as you get behind the scenes tours and interview during intermission as well.
Wonderful performances.
