Never saw this before. Surprisingly wonderful.
Out of this world
Wow, I expected great production but this was far better than I could have imagined.
Fabulous music, singers, sets and orchestra!
fantastic voices.
Divas were fierce
Fantastic. With Netrebko, we have our modern day Callas.
Gorgeous production. Incredible voices. This opera is seldom produced because all of the lead roles place great demands on the singers, so this is your chance to see this beautiful songfest.
I enjoyed the opera but was VERY disappointed in the venue. The sound was turned too low and after the first intermission the lights stayed on for the full 5 minutes of Act 3! Similar thing happened when I was at Tyson's AMC for "They Shall not Grow Old". Obviously, those events are an afterthought to the staff who need to pay more attention. I would watch another MET performance on screen but not at Tyson's AMC.
The Met's part in this was superior, but the AMC @ Mazza Gallerie does not bother to screen the opera in stereo; sound only comes from one, behind the screen speaker. It's why I hardly ever attend these screenings. Opera is not about popcorn or screens: it's about sound.
