The last 10 minutes redeem the first 80 in a way I have never before witnessed.

Pete Davidson meets horror with the enthusiasm of someone waiting for their Uber.

LauraAug 1, 2025The Home was better than I expected it to be. It’s not a good movie and it felt like it was written by a toddler, but we leaned in and had fun with it. Seeing this in theaters while on vacation also lent to how much we enjoyed the film. The last 15 minutes there is a…

Like most people, I watched this for Pete Davidson, and to keep this short, unlike the 9-hour runtime, "The Home" should have stayed home. The engagement level and story are weak and poorly told. The performances are unintentionally comedic. The horror is cringe-worthy. The camerawork and editing…

4.0 - I think we need studios to slow down green lighting retirement home/elderly antagonist horror. It’s becoming a trope & it’s hard to pull off. For the few that have done it well (X, Barbarian) there are more that fail (this, The Rule of Jenny Pen, The Front Room). It’s a hard angle to execute…
I was really surprised with this film - it was much better than I was expecting it to be. It’s intriguing and eerie throughout with a strong mysterious vibe. The twist and reveal toward the end is really good and I didn’t see it coming at all. Glad I found this. This is a good watch and I recommend.

Got the chance to see this early and it was a mixed bag, but a good one. Part of the fun of the movie is its incessant use of red herrings and its ability to tie them into the plot. The twist at the end was wildly unexpected and played very well, especially the last 20 minutes.
For most of the runtime this movie seemed kindof predictable and average but absolutely goes wild in the third act. Although I wish the writing was tighter for some of the lead up to the climax, the last 10 mins almost single-handedly saved the movie for me

I knew from minute 10 or before that the movie wasn't going to be good. Only because of how the story was made at the beginning! Not even the gore at the end saved the movie.
