Movie Info & Cast

The film's title is inspired by that eerie Vertigo scene where Kim Novak emerges into green neon light, the Maddin-Johnson melange retells Hitchcock's story, replacing his images with a prodigious assemblage of images plucked from films and television shows filmed in San Francisco. The effect is both illuminating and intoxicating.

Did You Know?

  • Director Guy Maddin got the idea for the title when he saw a cashier at Whole Foods with poorly dyed green hair.

Even working with some of the most mainstream ingredients one could possibly find (including, in a funny moment, an NSYNC video) and one of the most familiar settings on earth, Guy Maddin knows how to make things strange.
