really good movie. definitely would watch it again!!!
I didn’t read the book but I might have to now! Go see it so we get a sequel!
It was really good it was almost exactly what I pictured when I read the book
The new Maze Runner series🗣
This movie is about a group of kids who escape internment camp after a deadly virus infects and either kills or empowers every adolescent in the country. The powers range in level, designated by colors green to red, and are graded by safest to most dangeous supernatural power. The type of virus, and its origin, are not discussed and this is the first fault of the storytellers here. The movie jumps right in to the story of the main character and her struggle to hide her dangerous powers by disguising herself as a low threat "green". It then quickly shows her escape (and not much of her stay at the camp) and turns in to a love story. The main character struggles brifely with her choice of suitors and then, after she joins a rebel group, erases the memory of her from her love interests thoughts so that he can run away. This last part might not make sense, because it doesn't. This is how the movie ends...no bang, no cliffhanger, just a guy walking away from a poorly developed romance.
Went to see The Darkest Minds as the premise looked interesting. Do yourself a favor and save your money. Too many cringe-worthy and predictable moments. From someone that likes sci-fi and is generous when critiquing, that should tell you something. You may like it if you like teenage romance novels with many sappy moments, it has plenty of those.
I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. it was good.
I didn’t read the book so I was a blank slate. It was a good teen movie. The demographic shouldn’t be disappointed. I will echo the other writers. They need to clean up loose ends with more explanations for the sequel. I would also like to see better explanations of the kids lives before the sickness started and how they met. So we shall see....
Fun movie if you liked Divergent.
It was excellent, I would definitely see it again!
Actually pretty good. Some open parts and lose ends not explained or dealt with but, still pretty good. Don’t believe rotten tomatoes.
Was decent, but it was sort of underwhelming and predictable. The pace of the movie was all over the place and the way the story was going was confusing at times.
I’ve seen worse movies recently, but it wasn’t great, good for netflix
I enjoyed the movie, and it kept me in suspense.
Horrible ending. Very disappointed!
A little slow and boring in my opinion. It is an interesting concept but thats about it
Gives me all the dystopian vibes that I love.
It was overall a nice movie. Kinda cliche but still worth the watch, especially if there is a part 2.
Lots of nickelodeon PG awkwardness but still kinda wanna see the sequel to find out what happens... ugh.
This movie had so much potential. It focused way too much on the love interests and moved a little slow. I’d recommend this for preteens.
Great movie
Might turn into a series.
My 12 year old was crying
This was a great movie!
It was ok but they need to follow the book more.
Good choice by my 11 yr old son!🤙🏼❤️
The concept was phenomenal and the platform exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait for the conclusion, no matter how many movies it takes!
Good movie kids loved it. kinda scary that something similar is about to happen soon real soon.
I really liked it but don’t be to surprised at the end
It’s Ight
Love it and hope for a sequel
just didn't have a good enough focus
Didn’t even get to see it because I got called into work. Can’t get a refund. Life and this movie sucks.
would like to see sequel
It was just wowww
Can’t wait to see the sequel
Great movie can’t wait for the next movie to come
The main character looks extremely similar to me so that’s great :)
its a really good flick: think XMen & 5th Wave. enjoyable.
Basically a boring spinoff of the X Men movies
Amazing and emotional
It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, and it was definitely slow.
very good movie. hope there is another
#awsomemovie
Good movie.
pay matinee prices youre less likely to want tour money back. it has potential for a better sequel though.
I went to see this movie with my sister . She isn’t the emotional type but her and I were crying at the end of the movie . We loved it so much were seeing it again . Amanda is such a great actress and we can wait to see her upcoming movie star .
Teenage drama with color coded powers
Interesting story line
Surprisingly better than i expected, Lots of fun. movie snobs need not apply, if you just wanna have a nice evening and suspend disbelief for a little while check this one out.
Metacritic
The Darkest Minds never communicates the overwhelming horror of a society whose children are either dead or in the process of being exterminated, or the hopelessness of kids discovering that every potential benefactor may have ulterior motives.
Young moviegoers who haven't yet tired of cookie-cutter dystopias will find a sympathetic protagonist played by Amandla Stenberg; but viewers who've taken this ride enough times to want, for instance, subtext addressing real-world oppression should look elsewhere.
