The actors portrayed the characters spot on. It has nods to the book for long time fans, however it borrows elements from so many of the books that it is unclear where it can go. That said the visuals are amazing, and it was probably made to appeal to a wider audience rather than just the readers. Overall, it is an interesting fresh take on the series as a whole.

I've waited 15 years to see this series come to life, I was not disappointed. Amazing!

Not alright, alright, alright. At all. If you read the first book, you'll be let down by how much is missing. If you didn't read the first book, you'll wonder what's going on. Either way, you'll think the whole thing feels disjointed and campy.

The movie was good. It was over the top, it wasn’t boring, it wasn’t too fast pace, this is a movie that moves through, good story. Nothing to brag about, just a good movie

I loved the storyline. Entertaining all the way through

The people who wrote and made The Dark Tower did it with a love for the books. The director kept the spirit alive. But the movie was obviously robbed in post-production. it felt very clipped. it felt like it went through too many critical hands before it hit the screen. i hope they have a chance to develop midworld further and with better production companies.

If you go into this expecting amazing acting and a stellar story you will be disappointed, but if you go in just wanting a movie that will keep you entertained and a story that at least won't bore you then you'll enjoy this movie

I was looking for a better adaptation of the book and series. They could have done wonders with this by staying true to the story.

The first half was very slow. It picked up but there was a lot of bad CGI during the action sequences. The cast was good though and they did a solid job with what they were given. The gunslinger mantra was stupid and annoying.

Rarely am I satisfied with screenplay based on books. However this film actually does the book justice. I heard it didn't have that great of reviews but went to see it anyway. To my surprise, it was a lot better than expected. Looking forward to the next movies.

Was very good. Kept me on edge of my seat.

Don't Blame the actors for this one, they did a good job. The movie was way too short with no build up. All the epic cat and mouse of the gunslinger and the man in black was skipped. All in all a watchable movie but a disappointment for the series.

Read the books and no it's not like the books but very good in its own right.

8 book adaptation down to 1 1/2 hour. thus movie could've showed the battle before the opening scene. brand new character Build up his story for the people who don't know about Gunnslingers. it's entertaining at best. story needs to develop

it was vaguely the Dark Tower. Dark Towerish. Dark Tower lite. is a henna cold at The Dark Tower I think it would have been a better movie. they had to try to make it into something that it wasn't it would have been a better movie.

Good show that feels good to watch. Though it does feel like characters didn’t get enough time to develop. The whole feel like you’re discovering something new aspect felt rush. But the visual, acting were on point. I’m not sure where it left plot holes for a part 2 but if they don’t make one I’ll be ok. Never read the book.

The movie makes me finally want to test-drive one of the “Dark Tower” novels, if only to see what King himself was able to bring to the party. Maybe that’s been his evil plan all along.
