Without giving away too much I like that it was based on reality. The setting was amazing as was the acting. My first horror movie for 2025 and we're off to a great start

This movie was kind of a let down to be honest. interesting premise, but didn't deliver. I will say the cinematography was good. beautiful shots, and the acting was good. but this movie was not at all scary. fizzled throughout the whole film

Its tension weakens, and tediousness sets in, though that effectively evokes what the characters are experiencing. But a period of slog reduces the story’s immersive quality, slowing momentum. What’s best about the movie, though, is how it eventually picks back up and morphs into something a bit different from straight-ahead horror.

The first movies of any given year are usually among the worst. Not this one. It’s a keeper, so treat yourself to a scary New Year’s celebration.

Young is very good in her part, making Eva a strong, flawed character whose depth helps to counterbalance the shallowness of everyone else. On the whole, however, The Damned wasn’t able to achieve what I was hoping from it and, rather than being an overlooked gem, it’s instead simply “overlooked.”
