The story didn't resolve in any meaningful way. It just ended. Very confusing.
Was there supposed to be an ending that you understood or that made sense? This movie says..what's an ending?
Despite a rapidly escalating plot, The Circle lacks any momentum, a problem that’s only made worse by woefully underdeveloped characters delivering painfully earnest and stilted dialogue.
One of the things The Circle gets right on multiple occasions is that, once one has bought into a technology like this, the problems it creates are invitations not to abandon it but to seek further technological solutions.
We’re lucky that moralists like Ponsoldt and Eggers have a sense of humor.

- The lead role of Mae was first offered to Alicia Vikander, which according to her, was one of the three roles offered simultaneously alongside the roles of Maria in Assassin's Creed (2016) and Heather in Jason Bourne (2016). Due to fan factor, she opted to do Bourne instead, thus having the producers moving on to casting second choice Emma Watson instead.
- (At around 1h 15 min) Before Mae ended her conversation with her parents on her phone, the background behind her isn't shaking when it should.
