everybody hating on JLo needs to get sent to The Cell
sarah squirmFeb 11, 2022These scientists are idiots. Placing Jennifer Lopez into my comatose subconscious is one way to guarantee i’ll never wake up
TheoJul 13, 2012Imagine "Silence of the Lambs" filtered through the fever dream of someone who has spent too much time in a bazaar in Marrakech, and you will have an idea of what "The Cell" has in store for its audience. Combining the stylized, pan-cultural aesthetic of Tarsem's Singh's…

Fairly ludicrous genre-bending studio script that tries to merge VR cyberpunk therapy dream-sharing with a knockoff Thomas Harris misogynistic serial killer of the week procedural featuring lots of baffling bursts of sympathetic sentimentality and offensively cliché pop…
Josh LewisJan 28, 2022God I love this movie. So underrated and unique, very original premise and executed perfectly. The biggest surprise is just how good JLo is in it, this is SO NOT the kind of movie you expect JLo to be in, and yet, she’s fantastic in it. I much prefer this early era of her…

"do you believe there is a part of yourself, deep inside in your mind, with things you don't want other people to see?"vincent is so scary and unhinged in this omggg. the difference between him as carl and as bobby goren is insane. I’m used to watching him as bobby, not…
mackenzie 🥀Jul 13, 2023I hadn’t seen this since I watched it in the theater. I really loved this though. Some of the visuals when they’re inside Stargher’s head are gorgeously nightmarish. When Stargher had the tapestries wrapped around the walls connected to his back, the vivisected horse,…

The most insane visuals ever. I feel like this movie was more about visuals than the story, but the story was entertaining on its own too! I really enjoyed this and would recommend. Also JLo is gorgeous I love the frosty lipgloss she wears bc this was on the cusp of 2000 9.5/10
A visually stunning smorgasbord. Great plot with an interesting perspective on the psyche. D’onofrio is superb in his wickedness and Lopez is at her best. The costumes alone are enough to make it a must see, but the sound, set, and production quality put it over the top.

the visuals in the dream sequences of this movie are so vivid and surreal and blew me away. the black dress that jennifer lopez wears has to be my favorite outfit i’ve seen on film! the story surrounding the real life side of the plot is just okay
A genuine work of art. Some of the most surreally authentic depictions of dreaming I've ever seen on film. Despite it's age and some rough CGI this was one of the craziest things I've seen and in the best way possible.

if anyone likes a thriller mystery type movie, check this one out...definitely creepy and artistic at the same time. might be a little out date with some scenes before cgi people. 8.5/10
Amazing movie in every way. Shocking, suspenseful and every department involved was on their A game. The costumes, the music, the actors. Everything is perfect.

Repetitive, aimless, and as frustrating as you'd imagine any two-hour music video to be.
A high-tech freak show, a gallery of grotesqueries that are fascinating and repellent.
