Argento: Okay Ennio this is a movie about a serial killer so we need some spooky music Morricone: You got it *clears throat* lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Patrick WillemsJun 24, 2015"Bring out the perverts!" We watch him watch her. Pure voyeurism.
matt lynchJun 29, 2019Argento’s first giallo is a masterpiece but I mean, of course it is. Stylish, suspensefult, full of twists and turns, it’s just a damn fine film and the Arrow bluray looks gorgeous but I mean, of course it does. I’m honestly too tired to write anything else but just trust…

Memory, gaze and danger. A masterpiece of turning physical space into pure manace. One of the few films in which is fair to say the camera framing creates a constant sense of danger just because the filmmaker vile instincts behind it frame everything like murder is just…
Filipe FurtadoOct 16, 2022Dario Argento and Ennio Morricone is Giallo’s most iconic, greatest team-up. If Argento is the knife, Morricone is the leather gloves.
CinemaVoid 🏴☠️Oct 30, 2025In my second experience with Dario Argento's style, I can say that I'm becoming familiar with and sympathizing quicker than I thought with "Giallos". A genre that uses mannerisms, artistic expression in composing certain scenes and transitions between settings and gore to…

My favorite moment in this is when they gather the perverts for the police line up and out comes a transsexual, to which the detective demands on the intercom, "I wanted the perverts not the transsexuals!". The transsexual then responds, "damn right", and leaves in a huff.
Willow MaclayJun 23, 2021Argento's first giallo and the one that kick started the craze. It might not be as overly flashy as later efforts, but the concept already feels fully realized. With each subsequent movie he went on and honed his skills, till eventually he made his masterpiece (IMO) Tenebre.
Lou (rhymes with wow!)Oct 14, 2021My kink are giallos where the killer reveal actually makes sense 😛

My FirstGiallo! It’s not often when there’s a movie I want repeated viewings on-for enjoyment but the administration of craft. I enjoyed the variety of characters that Sam runs into and they all have their own psychologically. I liked the reveal at the end, was unique and weird!
Dario Argento is such a horror master and his first film was a very well crafted and suspenseful giallo. With fabulous directing, an interesting plot and very cool and mysterious killer that really made this film into a Italian classic in the genre.

Amazing debut film. Argento shows his giallo artistry. The dubbed voices aren't as good as his other films but that could just be budget.
You can see great things coming from Argento with his directorial debut here. Builds tension and viciousness with each killer.

the main guy looks exactly like michael from jane the virgin
Interesting horror mystery-suspense film from Italy.
