benton tarantellaNov 14, 2023You know a slasher movie is going to be good when they introduce 20+ characters in the first 10 minutes

yeah, maybe the killer killed people, but at least he fed the cat and gave that cute little head scratch. all is forgiven.
esauNov 17, 2023Very clearly inspired by the classics of the past, but instead of being a boring derivative like so many of its modern peers, it has a ferocious and hilarious personality of its own. I completely forgot how brutal (and incredibly creative) Roth can get, but what I…

júliaNov 14, 2023I imagine this is how some might have felt in '96 watching Scream opening night or in '78 with Halloween. Thanksgiving feels major. A new classic ripped straight out of the golden age of slashers. The slasher of the year, and I mean looking back, it might just be the best…

7.3 - Terrible, campy, unserious, slasher fun. I laughed way more than I was scared. You can see the entire plot from 100 miles away, there’s editing issues everywhere, & the acting was very spotty (especially the accents), but I didn’t care. It’s exactly what it needs to be.
Worst horror film I’ve ever seen, seemed like a low budget movie that was made in four days
this movie was so confusing and had like no structure to the plot… i can’t think of a movie i said "what?" to more in recent memory there were some parts i liked like the dinner scene and the killer was kinda hot but… not really a good movie by any means wish there was less cgi

awesome movie and definitely the best horror movie of the year. then the 3rd act happens which is really messy and wayy to quick. besides that great. will rewatch soon.

Great holiday themed slasher! They understood the assignment. The acting/accents were bad enough to keep it fun without being to serious. Better than most franchise slashers. Just the right amount of gore to make you cringe but not enough to be torture porn, super entertaining.

I almost threw up three times
It’s was good just the people next to us wouldn’t stop talking ruining the movie for me
Metacritic
It offers plenty of cheap thrills, or more accurately cheap kills, presented with the sort of attention to bloodthirsty detail that horror aficionados crave. Pity, though, that there aren’t really any more actual grindhouses.
Undercooked dishes aside, with eye-popping production design and an invitingly rowdy premise, you feel just thankful enough for the full, calorie-rich meal Roth’s latest slasher provides — bones and all, but no leftovers.
If Thanksgiving had to be any specific dish on the holiday table, it would be stuffing: disparate chunks tossed together and baked. Stuffing is a dish where old bread goes to shine — a cheap and easy crowd-pleaser. But this particular serving of it is missing a crucial element, the binder.
