Moviegoers are saying
Spa Weekend divides audiences along a clear gender line - while female viewers embrace it as hilarious girls' night escapism, critics and male viewers slam the male writers' tone-deaf approach to women's friendships. The Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Anna Faris, and Michelle Buteau ensemble delivers genuine comedic chemistry that either saves or can't salvage the film, depending on your tolerance for Lucas and Moore's chaotic-friend formula.

parispowerAug 25, 2026As someone who worships at the Church of Leslie Mann, it pains me to say that this was a miss for me. It was a little like watching Lionel Messi in the MLS. You're seeing the GOAT, but it's not really the same thing as the thing you wish you were seeing. That being said,…

The key to this entire movie's success is being able to consume wine with it while watching it. My girlfriends got a little sloppy and gave this thing 5 stars. I didn't drink at all and came away wondering why this collection of talent didn't produce a funnier movie? Just…

A raucous Rom-Com getaway with 2 obnoxious friends, a tired workaholic, and a frumpy idiot.
Amina Malone likedSpa WeekendSaw this early and it was sooo adorable, I love the entire cast and the jokes were so funny. even though it’s been like a year since i’ve seen it and I don’t remember all the specifics, I still remember how much I enjoyed watching it. I’m glad it’s finally out!
Jules is "meh" onSpa WeekendA fun movie for the moms not exactly my taste but my mom liked it. Definitely a Bad Moms sort of vibe though not as funny imo. I did love Isla Fischers character though she really made the movie, without her it would have been a thumbs down

i think i saw more feet than massages, coco was annoying. if i had a penny for every time i’ve seen adam demos play an australian who falls in love with an american woman on holiday i’d have 3 pennies
Gwen dislikedSpa WeekendWhen I watch a movie this stupid I expect ti laugh out loud at least once, and that did not happen. All the main characters pissed me off, the inly good part was the dreamy Australian yoga instructor
Devin Masson likedSpa Weekendalthough this movie was a little too female gaze for me, I think it’s important to patronize comedies like this in theaters so it’s a thumbs up for me. Also I love Leslie Mann

Gregory Mitchell likedSpa WeekendScript was bad, anything that was funny was because of the performers. That being said, i like 100min comedies in theaters even if they’re mediocre

Watching Spa Weekend, you feel how tired and predictable the jokes are (it’s the script that needs a massage).

Much like the “Bad Moms” movies, Spa Weekend isn’t insightful, isn’t interesting and isn’t funny. It’s condescending and hacky and the humor always aims for the lowest common denominator.

The result is a comedy without gags, a comedy which, for all the strenuous high-jinks, is afraid to be flippant or mean or, indeed, funny in any way.
