Extremely slow burn that I would liken to the story telling of Hidetaka Miyazaki. These little nods to things that Kyle Edward Ball makes sure to show you then hides them away with gut wrenching pareidolia and a preverbal auditory feast and pieces of the puzzle you put together yourself make it a true movie of the mind. I promise you won’t hear quiet footsteps on the carpet the same again. Every shot and hallway looks like it may hold a threat and leaves you asking yourself if you really saw what you think you did. By the time the final shot rolls you’ll be so frozen in fear you can’t look away and you’ll fall into the inky darkness of its grip. It’ll be okay. Just “Go to sleep”…
This was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen...
This generation’s blair witch. Polarizing. If you arent liking it just walk out. There’s no need to stay behind and heckle what others are trying to consume. Wont be for everyone. But thats part of the appeal
I was terrorized through the entire runtime!
scary phone 😱☎️
i watched the whole thing and i still think if i hadn't googled it, i would have no idea what it was supposed to be about.

This “horror” (used as loosely as possible) debut will only frighten people who get startled by their own shadows every day, as it’s just a slog into nothingness.

It’s the kind of movie destined to baffle and irritate as many people as it beguiles.

Whatever you take away from it, the uniting fear Skinamarink creates ensures it will be remembered as an unparalleled achievement in horror cinema in how it paints a portrait of oblivion that beckons us into dark recesses from which there is no escape.
