As someone who got a degree in journalism, I love a good journalism movie. This one is ok. It’s so sad that it was so hard for them to get someone to go on the record. Everyone hated Harvey Weinstein but no one wanted to piss him off. The movie itself was a little bit too into itself but overall a good film.

Along the way, the narrative does drag at times, but mainly the film slowly and steadily impresses as two excellent reporters – and two excellent actresses, Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan – go about their work.

It is in no way a criticism to say that this is a solid, conventional film, skillfully made.

As reporters, they’re tireless. As moms, they’re tired. That’s what gives She Said its believable texture. That and the fact that, regardless of this story’s ultimately explosive impact, She Said is simply a story of journalists at work.
