Left a bad taste in my mouth. Applies the context of the Holocaust to the "Israeli-Arab conflict" but completely uninterested in Arabs, their history, their culture, who they are as people, or anything to do with them at all other than showing them as shadowy villains,…
eliJan 19, 2025propulsively paced, exceptionally edited, and well-acted across-the-board (john magaro mvp, per usual), but the frustratingly “apolitical” script lacks crucial context and the film’s questionable timing is even more so with that in mind
zoë rose bryantDec 9, 2024If you watched “Saturday Night” and thought I wish there was less comedy and more terrorism then this is the movie for you

This is a made-for-HBO movie from 1996, but it’s a good one and we deserve those, too.
Sean FennesseyDec 9, 2024One of Peter Sarsgaard’s earliest lines of dialogue is the statement, “It’s not political, it’s about the emotions”. In contrast, in September 5’s attempt at spotlighting the emotions of its central figures, it becomes a deeply political film. Through all its frequent and…
claira curtisSep 3, 2024Why this story? Why now? It feels icky to hear about a "palestinian hostage takeover" with the mire of complexities that are going on in the world rn. I was fascinated by the aspect of the news crews working in real time to figure out how to cover it, but in terms of who…

I feel really conflicted about this one. On one hand, it was really well shot and acted. Pacing was pretty solid and it was a gripping story. On the other hand, given world politics right now and the war in Gaza, it feels like the wrong time to release this movie and I felt uncomfortable through a…
a subject that is very important but not many people know or even remember. very well shot, color pallete, production design, can tell it was very low budget since it was all shot in one location, wish we had more tbh. it’s dark & eerie, pacing is alright a bit slow for my taste. good film…

I thought this was just ok. I was very familiar with the story from having read Vengeance (great book) and of course seen the movie Munich. So there was no suspense for me. I guess if you’re interested in journalism it was an ok movie. But All the President’s Men or Spotlight or She Said are…
The whole movie felt like the behind the scenes of the ABC broadcast that day. The suspense was good but it didn’t feel like it, we didn’t get an insider pov. Feel like getting that perspective could have made the movie so much more powerful. Good story bad execution imo. 2.5/5

This was before my time, but I had heard a little about it, but never knew the whole story… I found this extremely interesting and educational!!!
I went in completely blind to this movie and I was blown away by it. I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie. This is a must see movie!
