Atom User Reviews for Santiago: The Camino Within
Of course, it was inspiring, but also a bit confusing. No map to show what the Camino was or where the photos were taken. Seemed like a commercial for the Catholic church. Not what I expected.
Didn't realize it was going to be an idiotic religious advertisement.
Too bad it was entirely in Spanish and they never mentioned that little important fact ahead of time. Then the movie theater manager feigned ignorance. Total bust of a “special one night event.” 😵💫
Great metaphor for life…
While I enjoyed it. Felt like I was watching Catholic infomercial. Was not helpful in planning potential pilgrimage. If did not have extensive background research prior to viewing would not have understood much of it. Definitely geared towards building a bigger Catholic Church . Fortunately the charismatic Bishops attitude saved the film
Looking forward in going on my first Camino
Very inspiring. A must see for potential pilgrims.
I've walked the Camino 6 times, and this movie was very disappointing. It shows a very narrow slice of the Camino. It's missing many of the most iconic towns and landscapes of the Camino. They music is overwrought and the overuse of slo-mo makes it just drag on.
Bishop Hying did a great job!
I have read many books on the Camino, so I knew that people went for various reasons. The segment on the Korean couple was the highlight of the film.
Beautiful scenery and inspirational. However it would have been nice to know ahead of time it was in Spanish. Subtitles would have helped.
I loved that it focused on the spirituality of the Camino . Its not a travel log, that would be boring.
The film was good. The captions did help for those who didn’t speak Spanish. Makes me want to go in a pilgrimage to Santiago de Campostela.
We left after giving it an hour. Repetitive…No narrative. An advertisement for the church, not a film about the Camino. The worst!
Beautiful movie, and much what I expected it to be about, but would have appreciated a heads up that it was in Spanish with no English subtitles. I would have loved to have better understood the narration and a lot of the interviews, but still an inspirational production! Helped to solidify our goal of planning a trip on the camino!
Inspiring and spiritual with beautiful cinematography.
If you knew this film was coming to theaters then you knew it was going to be about the spiritual journey of the Camino and this movie did not disappoint. It really brought you into that journey and shared some heartfelt and inspirational stories along the way. I really enjoyed it.
