I like how Ray goes to rehab and then the movie just...ends. And text tells us "he never did drugs again."
Patrick WillemsJan 3, 2020It was very bold of the filmmakers to actually go back in time and cast young Ray Charles as himself. Not many filmmakers would take such a risk.
Felipe F.Apr 16, 2024Though this musical biopic is a bit overstretched with some flaws, it is just full of energy and love, powered by some fantastic performance from Jamie Foxx and refreshing blues. It addresses the psychological aspects, balancing out both his personal and professional fronts…

JaemartApr 16, 2014As a huge fan of Ray Charles' music from a young age, a biopic of one of the greatest musical icons of the 20th century was an enticing prospect. Ray is the product of fifteen years of effort from director Taylor Hackford to bring the blind singer's life story to the big…

Still debating between a 3.5 and 4 but I’m sticking with a 3.5 for now. Ray is a very lively, energetic and surprisingly fun biopic about Ray Charles. The music is very refreshing to hear and allows you to be a part of the movie. It’s a pretty well-directed movie and the…

Ray is spectacular the music is obviously amazing & Jamie Foxx absolutely kills it as Ray This man’s life is truly out of this world😎 It covers How he went blind ✅ How and when he created his best songs ✅ His Best decisions ✅ His Worse mistakes 🚫 The Rise & Fall of Ray Charles
Great movie with amazing acting by Jamie Fox. I don’t know anything about Ray Charles so I’m not sure how accurate this movie is but it was really entertaining and I feel like I learned a lot about him.

Wow. Foxx’s performance is extremely compelling and convincing. At times I rooted for him. At times I didn’t. I love the way the cigarette smoke floats in the air. I could listen to Ray say “ya dig?” a million more times.
One of the better biopics available today. Foxx dominates and solidifies his place as a Hollywood great. Only con is that the ending is a bit week compared to the rest of the movie. Otherwise this is fantastic.

Great movie about great man! None of that 2 and half hours was excess. And Jamie Foxx is a discovery for me by this movie! -2 points just because of bad decorations and makeup (in some places)
so good, tear jerker especially knowing it's a true story but wish it showed more of him when he was older instead of just "didn't touch heroin for 40 years after" like cmon 8/10
