55 You won't believe just how many bicycles are in this.
SilentDawnJun 20, 2018Well, I guess that’s it for me and movies. I’ve seen the best one now. There’s really no point in watching any more. Rad wins. I’m not really sure what I’m going to do with the extra free time, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.
CameronDec 12, 2020I had my first ever multi-continent watch party tonight (with Michelle - follow her, she's awesome) watching this movie. I am astounded that I hadn't heard of this movie until recently. I think that had I seen this as a kid, it would have been one of my favourites. Instead…

Man this movie is a blast of 80’s nostalgia…the BMX revolution was in full effect when I was a kid and this movie came out and I had no clue iconic Stuntman/Director Hal Needham directed it for the longest time and while it feels like a trend-grab its also full of cheesy…
Joe LynchMar 22, 2026This was rad. I have 0 interests with the topic matter cus I do not care for BMX, biking in general. The only sport I really care for is soccer (UP THE VILLA!) and basketball. So like my same problem with F1, I don’t care for the subject. But F1 was better. For me not…
MattyLoverJul 9, 2023No matter how often Michelle and I watch Rad together (three times and counting), it's always a cheesy good time! 🚴🏻 🕺🕺💃

Hal Needham should be revered as a God, but I thought this was pretty weak even when I saw it in theaters. The bike stuff is...not exciting. I'm glad so many people can enjoy this simply for nostalgia's sake -- certainly the music and clothes are quite the time capsule --…
matt lynchSep 25, 2024"Rad" is a 1986 film directed by Hal Needham. The film is centered around BMX craze, placing the narrative of a small town holding a big contest entitled "Helltrack" to get riders from all over to get together in order to compete for a 100k dollar cash prize. Like many…
Blake Bergman "Various Spaghetti"Nov 4, 2021I don't know, you guys... I think Rad might just contain the best BMX dance sequence (taking place at a high school prom) to have ever been put on film! It has got some stiff competition, I know.. A lot of cheesy fun revisiting this with Michelle. [Michelle's…

This movie 80’s so hard!! Soundtrack is fire. Small town hero vs evil corporation at bmx race to determine his future. Complete with falling in love in a day and a half and the loyal entourage and evil villain team. So love this film. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece. Just fun.
Essentially Karate Kid with BMX bikes. I knew nothing of this movie, except for maybe seeing a trailer for it before watching another movie on VHS, and seeing it at the video store. I didn’t hate it, in fact, I was actually pretty entertained by it.

Watched it as a bike riding kid and it brought back all the feels all over again. It’s an 80s movie so it certainly didn’t have the look and feel of a “blockbuster” but to me, it took me back to simpler times. I cherish movies like this.
JAJohn AmbsAmazing to see on the big screen! I love RAD and it makes me want to dig out my BMX and ride again.
